Crop Insurance Available Through Heritage Cooperative WEST MANSFIELD, OH – Heritage Cooperative, Inc., formerly known as Champaign Landmark, Inc. and The Farmers Commission Company, is only a few months old and already it is expanding its services to accommodate the needs of farmer customers by partnering with ABIS/J.H. Ward Agency to create Heritage Crop Insurance Agency, LLC of Unionville Center, Ohio. The partnership was announced by Heritage Cooperative President and CEO Eric Parthemore and ABIS/J.H. Ward Agency President John Ward following a meeting of the new Heritage Crop Insurance Agency on January 12, 2010 held at the ABIS/J.H. Ward Agency offices. According to Parthemore, “Our goal in creating this new entity, Heritage Crop Insurance Agency, is to help our farmer customers when they need it most; when they experience crop losses due to weather, poor yields and other production risks.” He added, “Crop insurance provides a safety net compatible with international trade commitments and creates products and services that are market driven. Crop insurance harnesses the strengths of both the public and private sectors and reflects the diversity of the farm sector in its outreach activities and programs.” “Our team at Heritage Crop Insurance Agency is ready to provide the link between farmers and the largest single part of the Federal safety net for agriculture. Crop insurance is available only from private insurance agents like us at Heritage Crop Insurance Agency. All of our agents are licensed by the state of Ohio and must receive federally mandated training, and pass a competency exam,” stated Ward. “We have personal integrity–we must be honest with our customers who need to know that their production records and other personal information will be kept confidential.” To serve the over 4,000 farmer customers of Heritage Cooperative at over 20 locations, the new Heritage Crop Insurance Agency representatives are John Ward, John Henry Ward, Elliott Ward and Nate Boerger. The agency representatives have already made progress by meeting with area farmers at Heritage Cooperative Post Harvest Meetings to introduce the new service. They can be reached at 614-873-4238 in Unionville Center, Ohio. Heritage Cooperative, Inc. is a member-owned farmer cooperative. Its founding cooperatives have served the agricultural community for over 90 years. Today, Heritage Cooperative includes 31 facilities and employs upwards of 355 individuals in a twenty county area in central Ohio. Heritage Cooperative serves not only its farmer members, but also other rural and urban customers. Heritage Cooperative provides feed, seed, fertilizer, chemcials, liquid fuel, propane, and grain merchandising products and services for over 9,000 members and nonmembers of the cooperative.
